Biggs Ford Archeological Site Artifact Exhibit

PHotograph from Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum

If you are a member of the Monocacy Archeological Society, you are invited to attend a special event at Frederick County Community College where artifacts from the Biggs Ford archeological site will be on exhibit.  The Biggs Ford site, located in Frederick County, Maryland, was excavated over a period of decades during which time members of the Monocacy Chapter of the Archeological Society of Maryland participated throughout those years.  A portion of the artifacts from the site was donated to the college as requested by the Crum family who owns the property where the site is located.  It was their desire to share the information gained from the site with local citizens so that they can appreciate and learn how prehistoric people lived and used the area around the county.

A reception will be held for invited guests on Thursday, November 17, between 3:30 and 4:30 in the MOSAIC Center (Student Center, Building H – Room 102) to celebrate the opening of the exhibit.  The exhibit will be on display in the Center though December 2, when it will move to its permanent display location on the second floor of the Student Center.

For more information about the reception please contact Dr. Lauren Lippiello, Assistant Professor of Global Studies at llippiello@frederick.edu.  For more information on the Biggs Ford site, explore our web site page https://masarcheology.org/project/biggs-ford-site/.
